Optometrist for over 30 years
Dr Nurudin Ahmed
Dr. Nurudin Ahmed brings over 30 years of optometric experience to the Prestige Optical team. After completing his undergraduate studies in London, England, he moved to Canada to pursue his passion for vision science—earning both a Master’s degree in Physiological Optics and a Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo.
Driven by a deep commitment to eye health, Dr. Ahmed has spent the past 25 years volunteering his expertise globally. He has provided vision care in the Philippines and served as a consultant for university hospitals around the world. His dedication to accessible care extends locally as well—he has founded multiple optometric clinics and currently operates a mobile eye care service for First Nations communities across British Columbia.
Dr. Ahmed’s compassionate approach, clinical expertise, and global perspective make him a valued contributor to both the local and international optometry communities.
4th Generation Optician and Contact Lens Fitter
Jaspreet Paul Singh
Jaspreet Paul is a fourth-generation optician, proudly continuing a 70-year family legacy in the eyewear industry. He studied Optometry at India’s premier medical institute, AIIMS New Delhi, where he was honored as the “Best Optometry Student” by the former President of India. After moving to Canada, he topped the Opticians Program in British Columbia.
Paul has extensive experience working with high and complex prescriptions, progressive lenses, and all types of contact lenses, including spherical, toric, and multifocal. His diverse career spans optical chains, boutique eyewear stores, and optometry clinics throughout the Lower Mainland.
As the strategic mind behind Prestige Optical, Paul leads with innovation and a clear vision for excellence. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, biking, and capturing nature through photography.
Optician and Contact Lens Fitter for over 30 years
Sara Namazi
Sara began her journey in the optical field in 1989 in Toronto, Canada. Fascinated by the craft of making prescription lenses, she started working in an optical lab, where mentorship from seasoned experts helped her build a strong foundation in the industry. In 1997, she became a licensed optician in Ontario and later moved to British Columbia in 2012.
With experience spanning every facet of the optical world—from managing labs and stores to owning her own businesses and overseeing regional operations for larger companies—Sara has truly come full circle. Today, she returns to her greatest passion: creating meaningful, personalized experiences for those seeking better vision. She thrives on helping people find eyewear that not only improves their sight but also enhances their facial features, turning the process of choosing glasses into an uplifting and joyful experience.
Now practicing as a licensed optician at Prestige Optical, Sara finds alignment working alongside Paul in Kitsilano, where their shared vision of community-centered care and excellence comes to life.

Faranak Shirbighi
With over 15 years of experience in the optical industry, Faranak brings a wealth of knowledge, professionalism, and care to every client interaction. She has managed several successful optical stores across the Lower Mainland and is known for her attention to detail, friendly approach, and commitment to helping people find the perfect eyewear.
Beyond her expertise in optics, Faranak is passionate about healthy living. She’s into fitness and enjoys creating clean, wholesome recipes—bringing the same level of dedication and balance to her lifestyle as she does to her work. Her warm personality and holistic approach make her a valued part of the Prestige Optical team.

Francesca
Francesca studied and graduated Hospitality & Resort Business Management with honors and also worked in the industry. But she later found her passion in eyeglasses - she enjoys helping people find the perfect pair of glasses. Francesca is the heart of Prestige Optical, overseeing daily operations and ensuring everything runs seamlessly.
On her days off, Francesca enjoys discovering new places, restaurants and trying new activities she hasn’t done before.
She also likes to spend quality time with her family, friends and dog Rocco.

Kamran Rouhandeh
Kamran comes from a family of opticians and carries forward a proud legacy of eye care. With over 20 years of hands-on experience, he blends deep industry knowledge with a strong commitment to helping people see clearly and feel confident in their eyewear.
In addition to his optical expertise, Kamran is also passionate about jewelry making—a craft that reflects his keen eye for detail and design. His artistic background brings a unique touch to his work, especially when helping clients choose frames that complement their personal style.
